Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-05-09
This Privacy Policy describes how Inches collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, mobile applications, and related services (the "Service").
1. Information you provide
- Account information: email address (used as your sign-in identifier) and an optional display name.
- Subscription information: if you subscribe to Inches Pro, our payment processor collects billing details. Inches stores only a customer reference, the active tier, and the renewal date.
- Saved items & activity: vendors you save, search history within your account.
- Correspondence: messages you send us through the contact or DMCA forms.
2. Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) used for security and debugging, retained no longer than 30 days unless required for an active investigation.
- A signed authentication cookie, used solely to maintain your sign-in session.
Inches does not use third-party advertising trackers, ad networks, or cross-site behavioral profiling. We use a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics approach.
3. Public data we aggregate
Inches' editorial content draws on publicly available data from sources such as marketplace storefronts, public business directories, published interviews, public social posts, press coverage, and publicly displayed product listings. We do not collect this material from you, and viewing it on Inches does not associate it with your account.
4. How we use information
- To operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- To authenticate you and remember your preferences;
- To bill and service Inches Pro subscriptions;
- To respond to your inquiries, takedown requests, and legal process;
- To detect and prevent abuse or fraud against the Service.
5. How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers (payment processing, hosting, analytics) bound by confidentiality and used only to deliver the Service;
- To comply with law or valid legal process, or to protect our rights or the rights of others;
- In connection with a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, asset sale), in which case we will notify users of any change in control.
6. Your choices and rights
You may update or delete your account at any time from account settings or by writing to us at the address on our corrections & legal contact page. Deletion removes your account, saved items, and account-bound history. Backups containing your data are purged on a 30-day rolling basis.
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia (VCDPA), Colorado (CPA), the European Economic Area (GDPR), the United Kingdom (UK GDPR), and other jurisdictions with comparable privacy rights may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction of their personal information by contacting us. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
7. Children
Inches is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from such individuals. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
Inches operates from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you consent to the transfer of your information to and processing in the U.S., where data-protection rules may differ from those of your country.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The "Effective" date above reflects the most recent revision; material changes will be highlighted on the Service.
