What will it really cost you?
A vendor quotes you a price per bundle. That is not what it costs you — shipping, payment fees and customs duty are real money, and nobody counts them until the box arrives. Read this before you send money
- Order a sample before the bulk order. The most common way new sellers get burned is a beautiful sample followed by a different bulk run. Buy one, wash it, wear it — then order the rest.
- How you pay decides whether you can get your money back. A card or an escrow service (like Alibaba Trade Assurance) can be disputed. Zelle, Western Union, CashApp and crypto cannot. If a vendor will only take those, that is the whole answer about that vendor.
- “18 inches” is not always 18 inches. Single-drawn hair is thick at the weft and thin at the tip, so a bundle sold as one length can run several inches shorter through most of it. Ask whether it is single or double drawn before you compare prices.
- The fees and the duty here are estimates, and they are labeled. We add 3% for card or payment-processor fees on the payment amount — the goods plus the shipping, because that is what actually goes through the processor. Customs duty we estimate from where the hair ships from, using the current US rate for HTS 6704.20 (wigs and hairpieces of human hair), stamped with the date we last checked it. We still will not invent a number — where we estimate, we say so, show the rate, and date it. Rates change; confirm the current HTS 6704.20 rate with your carrier before wiring money.
