A celebrity query searches the public figures Inches has traced and returns each match’s vendor count, linked stylists, and top vendor attributions with their confidence scores — the same records behind the celebrity index. A vendor query searches two datasets at once: Amazon storefronts (registered business country, average rating, listing count, linking to the full vendor signal report) and wholesale suppliers (location, minimum order quantity, and wholesale price band). A pricing query returns wholesale-to-retail price bands by product category for every sales channel we track — the raw data behind the pricing tool.
Every lookup hits Inches’ indexed data first and treats it as the authoritative answer. The optional AI summary runs afterwards, and only over the facts the lookup returned — it is instructed to cite specific names and numbers from those records and to add nothing of its own. That ordering is the point: a generic chatbot asked “where does this vendor ship from?” will produce a fluent guess, while a lookup grounded in indexed records either has the answer or tells you it doesn’t. Vendor results lead with the seller’s registered business country because it is the single most useful fact a storefront won’t volunteer: branding, model photos, and even the shop name can read as US-based while the business is registered somewhere else entirely. That registration data exists publicly in part because the INFORM Consumers Act requires online marketplaces to collect, verify, and disclose high-volume third-party sellers’ identities. Inches surfaces it next to ratings and listing counts so the mismatch is visible at a glance — and if you only need to check a single seller, the free search does that without a Pro account.

The summary is optional and it only restates the facts the lookup already returned — the model is instructed to cite names and numbers from those facts and to invent nothing beyond them. If the index has no match, the summary says so instead of guessing. You can also switch the summary off and read the raw records.
The free search checks one Amazon seller at a time. Research adds two more lookup types — celebrity vendor attributions and category price bands — and searches wholesale suppliers alongside Amazon storefronts in a single query, so you can go from a name to a sourcing decision without hopping between pages.
Each celebrity–vendor link in the index carries a confidence score based on how it was sourced. The lookup shows the top attributions with that percentage so you can tell a strongly sourced link from a tentative one, and each result links to the full profile where the sources are listed.
